Q) What are Lenticular Posters?

A) Lenticular technology has been around for years. It was widely used from the late 1940's onwards in novelty items such as badges where the picture would swap between 2 views depending on the viewing angle.

Modern technology has now been applied to produce complex lenses showing 10 to 14 images. These can also be separated so that each eye sees a slightly different version and therefore 3D images can now be created.

Q) Do I need a frame?

A) No you do not. The posters themselves are lightweight but sturdy as the lens structure is made from plastic. However, as with most pictures, a frame adds impact to an image; giving it support and separating it from the background that it is hung from.

Q) If I have it framed, is glass used?

A) No glass is used. As the front of the poster is plastic anyway, no further protection is needed. This means that the framed image is both lightweight and safe in children's bedrooms. That said, frames still have corners, so we would recommend safety first when finding a suitable spot to hang your poster.
